Box Contents

  • 2 sachets of 50 g powder each
  • Instructions printed inside the box

How To Apply

1. Pour the powder into a ceramic, wooden, or glass bowl (not metal). Add hot water and mix using a whisk or a fork. To preserve the beneficial properties of the plants and their dyeing power, it is preferable not to use boiling water. The mixture is ready when a homogeneous and creamy solution is obtained.

2. Apply the plant-based colour to the roots, using a brush or your hands. Massage to ensure better distribution of the product.

3. Once the roots are done, proceed with the lengths and massage each section.

4. To maintain a constant temperature during the setting time, it is recommended to wrap the hair with cling film or use a cap/hat.

5. After the setting time, rinse thoroughly until all colour residues are removed from the scalp and hair. Do not use shampoo, only silicone-free conditioner.

6. Wait 48 hours before using shampoo for the first time. During this time, the colour will stabilise.

FAQ's

What is Vegetal Color?

It is Herbatint's 100% plant-based hair dye with double action of colour and care, made from dye plants and Ayurvedic herbs responsibly grown in India without the use of pesticides and fertilizers. Thanks to the micro-fine powders ensuring high solubility, Vegetal Color guarantees easy application and an intense, multi-dimensional colour result.
Available in 8 ready-to-use mixes, it colours, nourishes, and restores the hair and scalp with just one simple step.

What is Vegetal Hair Dye? Is it different from Henna?

It is the only hair dye that can be classified as 100% natural, as it is made exclusively from powdered dye plants and Ayurvedic herbs, to be mixed with hot water. Commonly, vegetable hair dye is mistakenly referred to as henna, but in reality, henna refers to the Lawsonia Inermis shrub, which belongs to the Lythraceae family and dyes hair with a bright red color. The term vegetable dye, however, refers to a mixture of different plants with dyeing and treatment properties.

What are the benefits?

By covering and sealing the cuticles, Vegetal Color improves the hair’s appearance from the very first application. In addition to colouring, the nourishing active ingredients and their Ayurvedic formulations strengthen and nourish the hair. Thanks to its balancing actions, over time, it has a normalizing effect on the scalp while nourishing the hair, making it shiny, strong, and visibly reducing frizz. It is a true beauty treatment that gives a brilliant and unique colour that adapts to the history of the hair.

What is the difference between Vegetal Color and a permanent hair colour (oxidation)?

Vegetal Color is made only from dye plant powders and Ayurvedic herbs, while oxidation hair colours use pigments and other synthetic additives. Unlike oxidation colours, Vegetal Color wraps the hair, respecting its fibre without penetrating it, colouring, nourishing, and restructuring in one simple step.

How does it work?

The coloured pigments in the Vegetal Color mixtures wrap around the hair cuticle and bond with the keratin, filling in the hair scales. The hair shaft thus becomes much thicker and shinier, with fewer split ends and very natural colour nuances.

Vegetal Color, like all natural dyes, adapts to the hair's original colour without damaging it. The result is therefore a unique colour, tied to the "history" of the hair, its ability to absorb the pigment, and its natural base colour.

Does it effectively cover white hair?

Vegetal Color, being a vegetable dye, does not alter the hair structure but sits on the hair fibre like a glove, which is why it covers white hair transparently. To ensure effective coverage of white hair, it is necessary to proceed with the double-pass technique or with close applications over time.

Does the colour fade quickly? How often do I need to reapply it?

The colour obtained from applying Vegetal Color does not wash out but fades slightly and progressively. Over time, you will not notice a sharp contrast with the regrowth colour. In the days following application, the colour oxidises on the hair and continues to evolve as it sets. For first-time users, it is recommended to repeat the application after two weeks. To maintain a vibrant colour, it is advised to reapply the dye after approximately 40 days. This interval may vary depending on how many shampoos are done per week. For daily hair washing, more frequent applications may be needed.

Should I apply it to clean hair? Should it be wet?

Apply Vegetal Color to clean, damp, but not wet hair.

We recommend not using shampoos or treatments containing silicones, as they inhibit the adhesion of the colouring herbs. You can use all shampoos from Herbatint's haircare line because they do not contain silicones.

How long should I leave it on for?

After approximately 90 minutes of processing time, the plants contained in Vegetal Color have had enough time to bind to the hair’s keratin and deliver the COLOUR&CARE effect. This processing time may vary depending on the hair structure and the desired colour result. Experience with the product will help you determine the processing time that works best for you.

Can I use it during pregnancy?

Vegetal Color is a 100% natural product made from henna and dyeing plants, considered safe when used under normal physiological conditions and according to the instructions. As every pregnancy is unique, we recommend consulting your trusted doctor before applying colouring products.

I have finished chemotherapy treatment, can I dye my hair with this?

All plant-based dyes act externally on the hair, coating it like a glove. Vegetal Color is a 100% natural colouring product based on henna and dermatologically tested. Chemotherapy treatments may cause unexpected sensitivities, which is why we recommend consulting your trusted doctor before proceeding and performing the tolerance test.
