Nadege Honey - The Breton Winter Collection 2024

Handmade, handcrafted

Contrasting colours and delicate details

The Breton Winter collection combines my favourite stripe pattern with rich colours:  terracotta, teal, fuchsia and mustard yellow. While it is not as bold as my classic Breton range, it is equally as vibrant and eye catching. Moreover, it is perfect to transition from summer to winter, without having to say goodbye to stripes!

Colours are good for the soul. And the Breton Winter range is designed to bring cheerfulness and warmth to the days which are getting shorter. It is playful and full of optimism.

The collection is based on my original Breton line, inspired by memories of my childhood holidays. As a child, I spent my summers in the beautiful region of Brittany and the west coast of France where I grew up. This latest version features the very popular Breton earrings, including new shapes and designs. The collection also includes one long, adjustable necklace and stud earrings in 4 colourways.

From Nadege:

I am a contemporary Jewellery Designer with a love of strong bright colours. I design and handcraft all my creations. Whilst my designs are bold, they are both uplifting and unique.

I work from my studio in Northampton where I create colourful and quirky jewellery in polymer clay and sterling silver. I am self-taught. Since 2008 I have developed a unique style and refined the various techniques required to create my jewellery. My unique Breton Collection won the Giftware Association’s Award of Excellence in 2021 and was shortlisted as a finalist in the 2022 Gift of the Year awards, receiving the Highly Commended badge.

Design and inspiration

My inspiration is varied. For instance, my distinctive BRETON Collection is inspired by the memories of my childhood holidays spent in Brittany. My love of classic design from various eras is also a strong influence in my work. Fascinated by the Mid-Century and Art Deco styles in particular, some elements of these periods are often echoed in my work. Above all, I create pieces where colour, pattern and texture are centre stage.

Handmade using modern materials

Two of my favourite steps in the process of creating jewellery are the sketching of a new design and mixing the clay to obtain the exact shade I am after. Polymer clay as a medium allows me to blend striking colours in contrast to the subtle appearance of sterling silver. Every piece of jewellery is made with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
